Before traveling people often start to panic. It doesn't matter how many times you have made that same trip or how many times you have been in an airplane. There is something about traveling that makes everyone slightly on edge, even if it's just worrying about not forgetting anything or whether everything in your hand baggage will get through the security checks.
Most of the time these are average expected worries that anyone could have. There are others who are afraid of flights or traveling away from their comfort zone and these are the worries that we have to take care of. It may even be so bad that it prevents some from traveling at all. But most of the time there is no reason for us to worry. There are travel warnings that are sent out at times when it may be more dangerous to travel. It may be something within your state and these will be state department travel warnings, or it could be something that is over the whole country. Those that are nationwide will be U.S. travel warnings for those who live in the U.S. If you receive a travel warning at a time when you should be traveling it's often just a precaution that the government is trying to avoid a disaster so they take the most precaution possible. It does not necessarily mean that anything bad has happened. Most travel warnings turn out to be false alarms in the end but it's always better safe than sorry. One example of a false alarm could be an abandoned piece of luggage in an airport. There is a standard procedure for when this happens and that is to evacuate the airport and disassemble the luggage. More often than not these have been accidents by forgetful people.
There are consular information travel warnings where you can learn all about the nature of your travel warning and the story behind it all. There are also foreign travel warnings if it is felt that people could be at risk traveling to a certain country. For example war zones are often not recommended for people to travel to. There are other reasons apart from danger that there might be a travel warning put out. If the weather does not seem appropriate for people to be traveling in then there could be a travel warning. Weather is often a huge factor on how a journey or trip goes so it is something that needs to be considered before all else.
